The deadline for this contest has been extended.
The Alleluia Poetry Contests for the Archdiocesan, LUX, and LUMEN communities will now be accepting submissions until 11:59 p.m. CST, October 20, 2026. The new deadline date, as well as the dates for the announcement of finalists, winners, and the date of the award ceremony, have also been updated.
Archdiocesan School Community AND Catholic High Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston
The goal of the Archdiocesan Alleluia Contest is to inspire 7th-12th grade students in Archdiocesan-affiliated schools and Catholic high schools in the Galveston-Houston archdiocese to write a poem inspired by the Canticle of All Creatures written by St. Francis of Assisi, to increase writing skills, and to increase writing confidence.

2026 LUX Community
The goal of the LUX Alleluia Contest is to inspire 7th-12th grade students in the home-school and independent Catholic school communities to write a poem inspired by the Canticle of All Creatures written by St. Francis of Assisi, to increase writing skills, and to increase writing confidence.
