Young and fearless – that combination sparks excitement, spontaneity, creativity – and young writers. Ignite the creative spark in your child this summer. In one week of fun sessions, campers will:
Explore ways to write spontaneously and leave standardized test writing behind,
Work in teams to develop group projects that showcase the individual strengths of each member,
Produce paragraphs, poems, and stories that bubble with imagination,
Learn how to better express ideas and personal sentiments,
Discover ways to tie their new skills into their Catholic environment and family traditions.
Information for 2020 Camp will be posted during September, 2019.

Hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm daily
first child = $250, second sibling = $200, third and more = 150
Early Bird Discount to Register: through May 20, 2019, first child = $225, second sibling = $190, third and more = $140
all payments must be received within one week of registration. If you pay with PayPal, you will receive a receipt from them. If you pay by check, we will email you a receipt.

Drop-off and pick-up
information will be available after May 15, 2019. All students must be picked up by 3:20 pm each day or be charged a rate of $5/minute.

Fearless Catholic Writing Camp is open to rising fifth graders through rising twelfth graders from public education, private education, and home-school education. Students will be placed in the grade that they will enter in the fall. Children’s placement will be verified by their birth certificates.
Class size is limited to 20 students per class. Multi-grade classrooms may be necessary due to enrollment figures. We will try our best to place students in single-grade classrooms.
If a class is full when you register, we will contact you to discuss whether you want your child to be placed in a multi-grade classroom or whether you want your application to be placed on a wait list. If you are on the wait list and a space becomes available, you will be contacted to see if you are still interested.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
When you enroll your child in Fearless Catholic Writing Camp, you have read and agree to the following cancellation and refund policy:
By enrolling my child, I understand and agree that Fearless Catholic Writing Camp will provide:
Through May 20 at midnight, a refund for full tuition minus a $75 cancellation fee for each child.
From May 21 through June 1, midnight, a refund of 50% tuition for each child.
After June 1, midnight, no refunds will be given .
No prorated refund will be provided for students who miss a day or partial day of Camp.
Types of Payment Accepted and Required Documents
Registration is only online. Credit card or check payment is accepted. A confirmation email will be sent following registration, with more details to arrive nearer the date of Camp.
If you prefer to mail a check, please use the following address: Catholic Literary Arts, c/o S. Cortez, POB 980579, Houston, TX 77098-0579. Checks must arrive within one week of registration.
Required Document pre-registration: This may be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or uploaded as part of registration. Copy/scan of the following:

We recognize the importance of incremental learning especially for skills such as writing. Your child will gain skills and focus through regular attendance at Camp for the full day's session each day of Camp. No refunds are made for illness or lack of attendance for any reasons.
Hours of Class —There will be six hours of instruction, including lunch, Monday through Thursday. Friday, June 28, will be devoted to a reading by each student of work written during the week. All parents and friends of the students are invited to attend this public event in Jones Auditorium.
Supplies—You will be emailed details of your child’s supply needs after registration. Generally, your child should bring a notebook with lined paper, pencils or pens to class on the first day. Additional materials for creative projects will be supplied during the Camp.
Lunch—All students will bring their lunches. All lunch containers must bear the student's name.
Breaks—There is a supervised lunch break roughly mid-way through the class day. Students may have supervised break time inside or outside a building on the UST campus.
Dress Code—Students may wear jeans, trousers, pants or shorts. For girls, no halter tops, tank tops, swim suit tops or blouses that show the midriff or that are lower in front than the collar bone. Girls may wear dresses that cover the shoulder and are knee-length or longer. For student safety, no sandals or flip-flops.
Each class will attend Mass at least once during Camp. The lovely UST Chapel of St. Basil will be the location. Upon registration, you will be given the schedule for your child's Mass attendance so you can plan for appropriate dress.
Before Classes and After Classes
Daily sign-in begins at 8:45 a.m. each day. We will begin signing out students at 3:00 p.m. each day. Upon registration, you will be emailed details of the drop-off and pick-up location and procedures.
We do not provide child care. Please be punctual. If you have an emergency, please notify us at 713-331-9342. There will be a charge of $5/minute after 3:20 p.m. each day.
